These are thoughts on togetherness, and people needing each other. There are those who might call it codependency, something unhealthy, undesirable, wicked.... All of which it can be. "I am what I am," says he. He's been conditioned that she will try to change him, try to mold him in some way that he isn't meant to be. But is he really no more than what he is? Can he not be what he has the potential to be? What if, by creating the protective boundary he imagines will prevent her from making him something he doesn't want to be, he's actually closing his own doors, shutting down his own creative energy. "I'm just fine on my own thank you," says she. She has her cat, a soft afghan and collection of trade paperbacks from the self help section of her local Barnes and Noble. How many doors is she closing, by locking others out, is she really locking herself in? The following pieces simply propose that it's all right to really love someone. They propose that it is acceptable, even desirable, to really need someone in your life.
